2. Acceptance
By downloading, installing, or using Campus Assistant (the "Plugin", the "Service"), you accept these Terms of Service in full. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Plugin. If you are accepting on behalf of an organization (university, academy, company), you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
3. Description of the Service
Campus Assistant is a Moodle plugin (`local_campusai`) that provides an AI-powered conversational assistant inside the customer's Moodle installation. The Plugin:
- Processes messages from end users (students, teachers, administrators) of the customer's Moodle instance
- Forwards those messages to a third-party AI provider chosen by the customer (OpenAI, DeepSeek, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude)
- Returns the AI's response to the end user inside the Moodle interface
- Includes role-specific functions: 20 for students, 12 for teachers, 16 for admins (48 in total)
4. License and Pricing
4.1 Free tier
- Free download and use with up to 50 AI messages per month per campus
- Free tier includes unlimited users and unlimited courses
- Free tier requires a registered account at campusassistant.app
- Free tier may be modified or discontinued at any time with 30 days' notice
4.2 Paid license
- Price: €499/year (VAT excluded, if applicable)
- Includes: unlimited messages, unlimited users, priority support, all future minor updates
- Delivery: license key emailed upon payment confirmation; activated on customer's domain
- Activation: tied to ONE production domain (one Moodle instance)
- Renewal: automatic annual renewal via PayPal subscription
- Cancellation: customer may cancel at any time from their PayPal account; access remains active until the end of the paid period
4.3 Major version upgrades
The annual license covers all minor updates (e.g., v2.2 → v2.5). Major upgrades (e.g., v2 → v3) that require migration effort may be subject to a separate fee, communicated at least 60 days in advance.
5. Right of withdrawal (consumers only)
If you are a consumer (not a business), EU Directive 2011/83/EU grants you a 30-day right of withdrawal from digital service purchases. However, by downloading and activating the license you expressly request immediate performance and acknowledge losing the withdrawal right once the service has been fully performed (Art. 16.m LDCG in Spain).
Refund policy: We offer a 30-day "no questions asked" refund after the first purchase if the Plugin does not work on your Moodle installation due to a bug on our side. To request it, email hola@campusassistant.app with your PayPal transaction ID. Refunds will not be granted for change-of-mind after 14 days of use, or for renewals.
6. Customer obligations
You agree to:
- Provide truthful information when registering
- Keep your license key confidential
- Use the Plugin only for lawful educational purposes
- Comply with your local data protection laws when processing end-user data through the Plugin
- Inform your end users (students, teachers) that their messages are processed by a third-party AI provider
- Not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Plugin
- Not resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Plugin as a standalone product
7. AI-generated content disclaimer
IMPORTANT: The Plugin uses third-party AI models that can generate inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading information. The Plugin is an educational assistant, not an authoritative source. The customer is responsible for:
- Supervising AI responses used in educational contexts (especially for minors)
- Not using AI responses as the sole basis for grading, accreditation, or formal academic decisions without human review
- Adding appropriate disclaimers in their Moodle instance
We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose of AI-generated content.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- The Plugin is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied
- We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation
- Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount paid by the customer for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim
- We shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages
- We shall not be liable for damages caused by third-party AI providers (OpenAI, DeepSeek, Gemini, Claude)
- We shall not be liable for damages caused by Moodle core updates, theme incompatibilities, or third-party Moodle plugins
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim by a third party arising from your misuse of the Plugin, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any applicable law.
10. Service availability
We aim for 99% uptime on the license validation and license management endpoints (campusassistant.app/app/*). The Plugin's core functionality (chat with AI) depends on third-party AI providers; we are not responsible for their availability. Scheduled maintenance will be announced at least 24 hours in advance.
11. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if:
- Payment fails and is not resolved within 7 days
- You breach these Terms
- We are required to do so by law
- The Service is discontinued (with 90 days' notice and pro-rated refund)
12. Intellectual property
The Plugin, its source code, documentation, branding, and trademarks are our exclusive property. The license granted is a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Plugin for the duration of the subscription. You retain all rights to your data and your Moodle content.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
14. Applicable law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Spanish law and EU regulations. For consumers, any dispute shall be submitted to the courts of their domicile. For businesses, any dispute shall be submitted exclusively to the courts of Huelva.
