The plugin is fully self-hosted on your server. Chat conversations are stored in your Moodle database. Only the questions sent to the AI provider (OpenAI, etc.) leave your campus — and you control which provider to use. No third-party tracking, no external servers.
That depends on your chosen provider and usage. With DeepSeek, a campus of 500 students typically costs €5–15/month in API calls. OpenAI GPT-4o-mini is similarly affordable. You use your own API key and pay the provider directly — we don't add any markup.
